As we approach the middle of may Em & Phill have reached the half way point of their challenge for Hospice Of The Good Shepherd. The boys have already completed a huge 553,463 steps so far meaning they are way ahead of schedule as they aim for their 1 million steps! Em & Phill had this to say about how the challenge has gone so far –
EM – ‘It’s definitely a challenge getting out of bed at 6:15am on work days, to put my trainers on and get 4-5k steps done before a shower & breakfast.
There’s a bit of healthy competition between Phill and myself, but more than anything else we don’t want to let each other down, the kind people who have donated, and of course the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd.
Despite the aches and pains – overall I’m feeling great, we are on target and WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS!”
PHILL – “I have found the challenge enjoyable so far and I am feeling much healthier for it!
To make sure I get the steps in before work I am getting out of the house at about 6:15 (the light mornings do help) to get as many as I can before going into the office.
The only problem is that my dog is getting used to going out first thing, so it looks like I’m going to have to carry on with the early walks long after this challenge is over.
Despite Em telling me that it’s not a competition, I think we are both quite competitive, so this is spurring us on to get the job done!
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far but we still need more donations to reach our target of £1,000.”
